You can just e-mail the admissions office with a short update very similar to what you wrote here (with slightly more professional language). But I would strongly advise using the exact subject line "Application upd8", because that will let them know that you're a badass.

I'd send an update to all schools, including the ones you applied to specific PI scholarships at (because why not?). E-mail should do.

Ok well I'm not sure what is unprofessional about using all caps and curse words in e-mails but I guess I'll take your advice
