Scholarship negotiation with acceptances (not offers)

Post by genjustice » Mon Jan 30, 2017 11:08 am

Is it possible to negotiate scholarships on the basis that you were accepted to a higher ranked school (without a scholarship offer) but expressed sincere interest in attending the lower ranked one? E.g., negotiating $ from UVA with acceptances at Columbia and Penn?

Yes. If that's the only leverage you have, you could also just threaten to sit out this cycle.

Rank? From my experiences, it's more about employment % than an arbitrary USNWR rank when negotiating scholarships. Maybe it's different for Top 10
