I am really on the fence if I should submit this addendum or not, I know that some reasoning can be a turnoff to the admissions committee. Anyone mind giving it a quick look and seeing if it's appropriate?
Thanks!
I would like to explain my GPA and LSAT point disparity to the Admissions Committee. I enrolled in Temple University in 2011 as a Political Science Major. I studied there for eight semesters in which I earned a 3.21 GPA. After a GPA of 2.97 and 3.13 in the first four semesters, my GPA improved to a 3.33 and 3.43 in my final four semesters. This steady improvement was due to an increased focus and a complete adjustment to my educational priorities. I began my first three semesters on the Universities’ track team, focusing my attention mainly athletics and less on scholastics. After a period of self-reflection, I become conscious of the vital importance my education would be during my collegiate tenure and especially for my future. I then removed myself from the track team and focused on totally retooling my studying methodology, and was able to raise my GPA in all three of the following years of school, especially excelling in my major classes my last two years of college. Although I take responsibility for my first-year grades, I know that this upward trend of my GPA is indeed indicative of my true scholastic commitment and abilities. In terms of the LSAT, the eight point difference from my first test to my second test is indicative of my studying approach to the test. During the months leading up to my June exam, I was staffed on a trial by my firm which was taking up roughly seventy hours of my week and left me very little time to study. Although I should have postponed the test with my lack of preparation, I chose to take it anyways, scoring lower than I had hoped. I made my attorney development manager aware of my plans for the December LSAT, and they allowed me to take the time necessary to study, hence the eight point rise. I hope that you will take this information into account when you consider my application. Thank you very much.

Re: Appropriate Addendum Advice?
Yeah, this addendum seems unnecessary and potentially harmful to me. The GPA increase happened for the exact reasons that I'd expect, no addendum needed, and the reasons don't speak well of your ability to prioritize (even if you eventually got it right). The LSAT portion suggests (whether fairly or unfairly) that you have difficulty preparing for an exam while other things demand your attention, which is not a great look for law school.
