LSAC Missed ENTIRE Semester in Academic Summary Report
Guys...
My Academic Summary Report was just marked as complete by LSAC. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my GPA was higher than expected. Upon further examination, it looks like LSAC failed to include an ENTIRE semester in my Academic Summary Report!
I attended undergrad from Fall 2010 through Spring 2013. I graduated one year early. Additionally, I spent my entire final year of undergrad abroad (sponsored by my home institution, so I did not have to send a separate transcript).
My Academic Summary Report has three columns: 10-11; 11-12; and 13-13. That seemed odd to me...why not 12-13? When I added up the hours LSAC noted, it looks like they completely missed Fall 2012. There are no hours noted for Fall 2012. All other columns match perfectly with my undergrad transcript, and the 13-13 column matches perfectly with my Spring 2013 grades & hours. I should have 13 credit hours for Fall 2012 and 122 credit hours total. Instead, I have nothing for Fall 2012 and 109 credit hours total listed on the ASR.
I thought this may have something to do with study abroad, but I don't think that makes sense. I was abroad in Fall 2012 AND Spring 2013--why would they only include Spring 2013 and not Fall 2012? It looks like they goofed. Also, the ASR makes no notation that I was abroad at all, despite the fact that my official transcript does.
I don't really have a question here; just venting. I am going to send an urgent e-mail to LSAC today. I was waiting for this ASR to submit my apps, and this is quite a setback. Hopefully they will be able to rectify the situation quickly...

That is a bummer. Hope they can rectify it quickly. Was your transcript sent directly from your undergrad to LSAC? And when were you planning on applying?

Oh, I see you said you were just waiting for this ASR to go complete, so you're planning to apply ASAP. I would think you could write an addendum for this kind of thing, and adcoms will be understanding. Can't see how it's your fault at all.

Call LSAC. This happened to me. I studied abroad for a semester and thought I didn't have to submit a transcript from the institution, you know, because that what their website fuxking says. I called and they were like oh, there are 8 institutions that we consider to be domestic despite being abroad and this is one of them. Get a separate transcript. It was the American University in Cairo for me.chichi1992 wrote:Guys...

Re: LSAC Missed ENTIRE Semester in Academic Summary Report
I just spoke with a less than helpful LSAC representative. He put me on hold for a while, and when he came back, he said that I DO need a transcript from my study abroad institution. When I asked why one semester of my study abroad grades made it on the ASR and the other semester didn't, he basically said, "Wow yeah, that's weird...I'll have to talk to someone about this".

Wanted to chime in and when my report listed a course for credit (CR) as a D on mine, they were very quick about rectifying it - hopefully yours is of higher priority and is fixed quick!chichi1992 wrote:

Re: LSAC Missed ENTIRE Semester in Academic Summary Report
I really hope so! The thing is, if my study abroad institution is really considered "domestic" instead of "foreign" (which like, did I not travel 6,000 miles to get there?), then I have to submit a separate transcript even though it was (a) less than one year and (b) sponsored through my home institution. So I'm wondering if they might make me send my study abroad transcript anyway. Which blows, because university registrars in third-world countries are just as pleasant and efficient as one would imagine.Dodocogon wrote:Wanted to chime in and when my report listed a course for credit (CR) as a D on mine, they were very quick about rectifying it - hopefully yours is of higher priority and is fixed quick!chichi1992 wrote:
