Listing an unused scholarship on resume?

Post by tskela » Sat Nov 12, 2016 2:23 pm

I was awarded a fairly competitive scholarship in undergrad (only 43 students got it) for the purpose of studying abroad for a summer.

Some other work opportunities arose over the summers I was eligible and I chose not to take advantage of the scholarship.

Is this ok to list or no?

If you ended up not doing anything with it, no need in including it just to beef up your resume. Play up the things you actually did that took you away from doing that scholarship.

That kind of seems like putting job offers on a resume that you did not take. Seems weird. I'd leave it off.
