Is it worth it to ED with my numbers?
3.41/177 , is it worth it to apply ED anywhere? I am mostly concerned about scholarship money. I know that I have a fair chance at getting in anywhere except HYS (longshot at HS). However, northwestern offers 150k for an early decision and I feel confident I would get in with those numbers. Any thoughts?

With those numbers you should ONLY apply ED if it will guarantee a full ride such as with NW. you are well above their 75th for LSAT, and they are rumored to be splitter friendly...

Right, I guess the question is if NW is worth that money? Or is it better to try to get into a Columbia/Chicago?BobBoblaw wrote:With those numbers you should ONLY apply ED if it will guarantee a full ride such as with NW. you are well above their 75th for LSAT, and they are rumored to be splitter friendly...

Where do you want to work and what kind of work do you want to do?

I want to work in Chicago or New York. In the long term I would like to be in house at a company (general counsel), short term, big law.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Where do you want to work and what kind of work do you want to do?

I guess that is my question, is NW worth it? Or would I get similar cash no matter what? If not, is the value of that money worth missing out on higher ranked schools?zeglo wrote:Unless it's Northwestern, I wouldn't do it. There are a number of schools that fit your requirements...which are similar to mine. Just aim for the private-sector focused schools like Columbia, NYU, Chicago, Northwestern, Penn, and Duke. You have a good shot at them with money I think.

With your GPA, HYS are out, so I would strongly consider NU ED over Columbia/Chicago.
