LOR Advice

Post by simplypara588 » Sat Oct 08, 2016 12:07 pm

I'm about a year and a half out of school (May 2015 grad) and emailed two professors over the winter requesting LORs. One submitted her LOR fairly promptly, while the other said she'd be happy to write a letter when I applied. I followed up with the second prof two weeks ago, asking if she'd still be willing to write and letting her know I'd like to finalize apps within the next month or so. I haven't yet received a response. Is this her subtle way of saying she is no longer able/willing to write? Is it pushy to send another follow-up, or should I just try to find another prof? I'm also getting a LOR from an employer (could easily get a second, but this seems against the norm).

Send a politely worded follow up email, and reference or copy below the email from many months ago when she agreed to write it in the first place.

Thanks. I sent a friendly follow up and she responded within 20 minutes. Must have just gotten lost in her inbox :D
