170 LSAT.. wait until December retake?

Post by abck99 » Fri Oct 07, 2016 2:36 pm

I took the LSAT for the first time and got a 170, but had been averaging around 175 on PTs.. My applications are otherwise ready to submit, and with a 3.8 GPA I think I'd have a shot at lower T14s as is, but I'm considering taking the LSAT again in December for scholarship money/consideration at the top 6.

I don't want to delay my applications, though, at schools I'd be able to get into now with my score. Can I submit my applications now, and ask them to consider my application complete, even if I'm signed up for a December LSAT? I don't want to delay my applications being reviewed at somewhere I'm already a strong candidate.

Any thoughts would be great :D

I had a 170/3.8 when applying and I got into every school I applied to in the T14 except for HYS (waitlisted at H and S). Applied in early Oct (so this time). Anecdotal, but may help. Also check out lawschoolnumbers.com for chances of acceptance and $$
