Fee Waiver Question #2

Post by tk421991 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 8:35 am

Have a question about law schools' application fees and the LSAC Fee Waiver...

All of my applications are going to be done electronically. I have a LSAC Fee Waiver. I'm going to applying to a bare minimum of 11 law schools. I am going to the Veteran's Day Boston LSAC Forum.

Should I:

A) Ask each applicable law school for a fee waiver in person at the forum and bring my letter of approval from LSAC?
B) Email/call all of these schools individually and ask, sending them the .pdf of the letter if I need to?
C) Simply do nothing until I apply, since the school's fee will automatically not show up since I have the Fee Waiver?

My original plan was A, but I saw this on Harvard's website:
If payment of the application fee poses a severe financial hardship, please follow the instructions below:

Request a fee waiver from LSAC (if you have not already done so). If LSAC has granted you an LSAC fee waiver within the last year and you apply electronically to Harvard, your Harvard application fee will be automatically waived.

It's been a while since I did this, but if I remember correctly, you should see what fees are waived as soon as you start any school's application. And the LSAC waiver should be automatically applied to everything.
