Hey all,
I'm an international applicant in the coming cycle, educated outside the States. I know that law schools' websites state that international applicants must show proficiency via an English-language test (like the TOEFL or IELTS) but was wondering if there is any way around that.
I scored a 172 on my LSAT. I have a Master's degree from the London School of Economics, and my undergrad was taught in English as well. I have taken both the TOEFL and IELTS previously but those score reports are only valid for 2 years and have, hence, expired.
These exams are really expensive -- almost as much as the LSAT -- and I would really like to find a way to avoid taking them. Any other international applicants / JD students with some tips?

I think it depends on the school that you're applying to. For example HLS doesn't require the TOEFL at all while UVA is really strict about it. Some schools will make you do it once you don't have a degree from a US institution and some schools allow you to submit a TOEFL waiver request. I think you should shoot an email to the admissions dept of the schools you're applying to letting them know that you did a degree in the UK.RictusErectus wrote:Hey all,

Only T14 that requires you to take an English proficiency test is Duke. Save your money and apply to the remaining thirteen schools.
