Hello guys,
this is my first post and i am trying to search posts that would answer my (stupid) question but no luck..
I am going to ask my supervisor to write a LoR ; however my supervisor does not know how LSAC LoR system works. So, I would need to give every detail i can think of.
When I add recommenders, I know I need to put down a description. However, Im confused about "General" vs "Specific"
Does this "General Use", "All school" means that a writer is not mentioning a specific name of the school on the letter? What if a writer uses the same content but just changes the name of the school? Does this fall under "Specific" or "General"?
I am not sure which description to write after I ask for LORs from my professor and supervisor.. I know they are not affailiated with any of the schools that i am applying to.
Thank you for reading my post..

Re: LOR- description
If you want to use the LOR for multiple schools, then just have it as "For all schools" or "General". If your professor will be writing you a general one and then editing it to be school specific, just indicate on the recommender information page that they will be submitting 2 letters.

Thanks! Just one more clarification..TheMikey wrote:If you want to use the LOR for multiple schools, then just have it as "For all schools" or "General". I will be asking for just one letter for all schools. Do recommendars just need to upload one letter on LSAC? ( in this case, i am assuming they should not write specific names of the schools)?

Yes it is just 1 letter that they need to upload if it's for all schools, and no they shouldn't be writing any specific school names on it if it's general.wndus wrote:Thanks!
