If I'm thinking of the right thing--it's basically a quick panel discussion among a bunch of T-14 deans of admissions. The overall message comes off somewhere between, "If you apply to our schools you better have appropriate LSAT/GPA numbers" and "We evaluate candidates holistically, if you have an interesting story, tell it to us, you never know what will happen." Unsurprisingly, the dichotomy between these messages isn't really resolved, but the right answer is that it's the former attitude 99.9999% of the time.

There's then a meet and greet thing where you get to stand in line for 30 minutes to talk to individual deans for 30 seconds, which is basically worthless, but a bunch of neurotic 0Ls in new suits are sure will be the make/break difference in their applications.

It's decent if you want to go, and there are certainly worse ways to waste an evening after working at your summer job. I went for the free dinner as I was only making a $3000 stipend for the whole summer. If you stick to TLS' admissions advice, the free food is basically the most useful thing you'll get out of it.

In addition to what was already said, you can pick up fee waivers from quite a few of the schools there just by attending (or by giving them your contact info). I got offered a priority track application for Duke through this event and fee waivers for a number of other schools.

It's not like you'll build a strong connection with the ad comms who are there that totally changes your chances of admission, but if you can go, I'd go.
