Volunteering While Waiting Forum

Long time lurker here,

Just got my LSAT score back yesterday, and I was wondering if it was meaningful for me to volunteer at a soup kitchen while I wait for applications to open. Is it okay to use this to fill up a gap in a resume?

Volunteering is meaningful because you'll be helping people. But it is irrelevant when it comes to law school admissions. Short of going to the Olympics this summer(and competing) there's not much you can "fill the gap" with that will greatly increase your chances at H.


Also, your numbers alone make you very competitive for H.

This. Do it because it's a good thing to do and you will be helping others, not because it will help with admissions. Spend the time to write a good app and get it in early. Your numbers already have you in the ballpark

If you're smart and actually want to help people, you can volunteer to do something a lot more productive than ladling soup.
