Are specialty rankings actually meaningful?
Should you take specialty rankings into account?
When Houston Law Center claims it has the #2 Ranked Health Law program in the country, should I factor that into my decision to attend despite its overall lower ranking? I'm legitimately interested in Health Law and have a full ride at Houston, my other option is Boston University at $20,000 a year and they also claim to have the #2 Ranked Health Law program.

Re: Are specialty rankings actually meaningful?
Short answer: no, specialty rankings don't matter. The school's overall employment stats are what matters. That is the general consensus on TLS
IMO there may be some (slight) marginal advantage from certain programs just in terms of giving you opportunities to demonstrate interest in a particular area of law on your resume, but that's about it.
