So I will be applying to law schools in the fall with a 3.49 gpa from a jesuit university and an LSAT score of 165. Two of my reaches are Boston College and University of Michigan. I know both of these are extremely unlikely, but I have alumni connections to both: my uncle is an alumni/former adjunct professor at Boston College Law who has worked on multiple high profile, international cases and the lady I nanny for is a graduate of University of Michigan who works at a prominent firm in New York. Both are willing to write recommendations. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into whether this could make the slightest difference in getting accepted.

You should seriously consider studying for the lsat again. A point or two is worth 5000 better letters of recommendation.

Schools typically prefer letters of recommendations from professors.

Pretty sure you need at least one academic LOR, preferably two.
If they're willing to write, why not use it as a third letter though? Go for it.

I don't think it will matter much at all though.
Also BC is hardly a reach here. Michigan is a long shot though.

If you can afford to sit and retake, you should. Improving your LSAT five or six points turns Michigan from a near-impossibility to a legitimate chance.
