Wait listed at Cardozo...

Post by HeyCounseler » Tue May 03, 2016 5:19 pm

Hi all,
I've been wait listed at Cardozo since Mid -April. I sent a LOCI to them shortly thereafter, via email.

Told them I'd consider their part time may or full time fall entry...haven't heard back yet.

May entry classes start on 5/23/16, how late in the month can I reasonably expect to hear from them?

Any advice is appreciated......

If you got waitlisted at dozo then you should definitely think about retaking the LSAT. What is your LSAT/GPA?

159/3.6

Why retake the LSAT, if dozo waitlisted me?

Because a couple extra points on your LSAT will get you a scholarship. Even if you get in off the wait list you will most likely be paying full price which is absurd at Cardozo. There are some that even argue Harvard isn't worth it at the 300K it will cost at full price let alone Cardozo

Yeah OP, this is why I recommend you do a retake. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't get in with a 159/3.6, I know someone with those exact same numbers who got in with a good scholly last cycle. Either way, you most likely will not get any scholly money from getting off the waitlist so you shouldn't even think about dozo anymore at sticker cost. OP, have you taken the LSAT only once?

I just realized you have their median LSAT and almost 75% GPA. Do you have any C&F issues or did you send in a sloppy application? Those numbers should have had you in with money??

No c & f issues, no sloppy application.

Took LSAT twice and last time got a 157

Not sure if I should ask for a school visit or contact the admission office to check my status.
Either way, I don't want to annoy them.

Work harder and take it a third time. Don't rush into a school, think about your future.

Really?
Surprised you weren't accepted tbh, but you have to retake even if you get accepted off the waitlist because it's not worth the cost.

Maybe OP will get some $$ if accepted of the WL, not likely but you never know. Is Cardozo the only school you are considering? Did you apply late?
