What should I do?
Okay, I"m at a crossroads here, unsure of how I should proceed. So basically, I applied to law school late, as in the last day, March 1.
As a result, I only applied to a few schools since most deadlines had already passed.
I was waitlised at Georgetown and UVA and received a scholarship that covers pretty much all of my tuition at Emory. But my top choice is by far Georgetown.
I want to study international law. My LSAT is 166 and 3.7 GPA.
My questions is, do you all think I should wait and apply next year.
Also, would you pay GU at sticker price if admitted? Do you all think there's any chance I get a scholarship at at T14 if I applied early next year. I'm still on the GU waiting list but I doubt I'd get merit aid if I'm admitted from the waiting list.
Or would you just go take the money from Emory?

Don't pay sticker at Georgetown. The answers to some of your other questions are more debatable. But seriously don't pay sticker at Georgetown.

Re: What should I do?
with your stats you should probably apply early next cycle rather than jumping into these options with your goals.

3.7/166 URMs have a chance at HYS and will surely get significant money from lower t-14 schools like Georgetown and UVA. Definitely wait and reapply early next cycle.

Wait and reapply. I was 30 when I started law school, so I understand the feeling of wanting to get started, but it's not worth being in debt for the next few decades.

Agreed w/earlier poster about not paying sticker at GT, especially if you aren't going into Biglaw to pay down the debt. Do you currently have a decent paying job? If yes, then I'd sit out till next cycle and apply earlier.

Wait it out seems to be TCR. You applying late definitely skewed your results it seems. AA 3.7 and 166 has a very good shot at H. And even if you really want Georgetown, reapplying next cycle will give you chance to apply early, and perhaps more money. Also, you can apply to other schools and use their offers to get more $$ wherever you decide to attend.
Also, I understand that you're older - It was really hard for me to take a year off after undergrad so I could wait to better study for the LSAT and get better offers. Right now I'm a OL studying for the LSAT but I truly believe a year is nothing when it comes to potentially $100k scholly vs. paying sticker.
Certainly don't pay sticker at GT with those stats!
Good luck whatever you decide, and congrats on a great GPA and LSAT

You would be surprised by how much better you do next year, judging by the fact you're even entertaining gulc at sticker right now.

While you should definitely reapply, bear in mind that international law is a very unlikely outcome.
