What extra curriculars would a solid applicant need?

Post by olikatz » Tue Apr 12, 2016 3:28 am

I was involved in 2 clubs at school that were volunteer based. Through these clubs I volunteered at the university's legal clinic and at my local rec center tutoring students from the local middle and high school. I had a job for 2 years of my undergrad as well. No internships.Do jobs count as extra curriculars? What else would a strong applicant need in terms of extra curriculars? Also I've noticed that there really is no way for me to prove that i ever did any of these volunteering activities. Are these all just self reported or will law schools ask for proof?

A solid applicant to where--Yale?
Vast majority of schools mostly just care about your GPA and LSAT.

There is not a specific number of extra curricular activities a student needs. Admission committees review an application as a whole, paying particular attention to GPA and LSAT scores. It depends on the university, but some may ask for verification or a reference number while others may not. If you cannot provide a reference, you would simply explain.

Best of luck!
