What should I use as my unique factor on my LOCI?

Post by intltradefuturelwyr » Thu Apr 07, 2016 10:47 am

Hi all,

I really need some help. I am preparing my LOCIs to send out and I am trying to figure out what I should put down on what I have that no one else has? I need to make these good because I have not been accepted anywhere!!

So here are some things I was considering writing about:
Going through the naturalization process with my mother and her siblings (can't really see this being unique)
Growing up with a career criminal for a father (this is in my personal statement, so idk about this one)
Being emancipated from my biological father at an early age (because of the aforementioned criminal activities and abuse)
I was adopted my my stepfather who is a dual citizen and grew up in Iran and my mother is from an pseudo-Amish community in Mexico so my heritage is unique maybe?
I have a hearing disability?
I have a really strong background in nonprofits.

I clearly have literally less than no idea as to what would make me unique because I am all over the place. But I have dealt with a lot, a lot of lawyers in my life so I don't know if that is something I should bring up again.

It appears you have interesting topics to choose from. It is advised to focus on a topic that you believe you can write a solid and professional response to in addition to one you have not already included in your application. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes and see what topic would captivate their interest and be personal for you to write. It is important to have a solid approach with any topic.

Best of luck!
