Final transcript and seat deposit
Hey all, so I was admitted to an upper t14 with no scholarship and a lower t14 with a nice scholarship. But, last semester I shit the bed and my cum gpa dropped .14 points (I'm working now to bring it back up slightly). I was already below the 25th gpa for both schools but I am still worried that they could revoke my acceptance. To make matters worse, I just updated my C&F for the upper t14 (with a traffic violation that I didn't initially include) so I'm already on slightly thinner ice. My worry is that if I pass up on the lower t14 and commit to the upper t14, which is where I want to be, I am boxing myself into one option where an admission revocation could leave me out of law school down the road, where as at the lower t14 I think at worst my scholarship would be revoked but I would still be able to attend. Is there any sense in sending an update about my last semester's mishap, to make sure that it isn't a dealbreaker, or do I ride it out until final transcripts are due and hope that they let me keep my seat? Sorry about the short essay, thanks for any responses.

Neither school is gonna revoke your acceptance/scholarship for this. If you were already below a 25th gpa then the schools really won't care because it doesn't affect them at all. Any sort of revocation is so unlikely unless you have a major C&F incident or you lied on your initial application (far beyond forgetting to include a traffic violation).scalabrinesheadband wrote:Hey all, so I was admitted to an upper t14 with no scholarship and a lower t14 with a nice scholarship. The bigger issue here might be that going to the upper T14 at sticker is a worse financial decision than attending a lower T14 with a scholarship.

Yup, that's something I'm gonna be mulling over for the next 10 days. Thanks for the input.Mullens wrote:Neither school is gonna revoke your acceptance/scholarship for this. I'm not sure how horrible your grades would have to have been for you to lose .14 off your GPA, but depending on how bad it is, I wouldn't be surprised if you were asked to explain. I wouldn't bring attention to it without prompting though.
In terms of them revoking your acceptance/scholarship, I wouldn't worry about it.
Beyond that, what's going on? Are you suffering from senioritis or could this be a sign that you're burned out after 17 consecutive years of school?

No it was mostly just stupid mistakes, like submitting the wrong file for a project worth 30% of my grade..but I'm a social sciences major so I haven't even really begun schooling yetfliptrip wrote:I'm not sure how horrible your grades would have to have been for you to lose .14 off your GPA, but depending on how bad it is, I wouldn't be surprised if you were asked to explain.
