Why X essay question

Post by GMasters5 » Mon Feb 01, 2016 6:48 am

Quick question, is it ok for me to put that I have a SO in the city of the school that I'm applying to? It isn't my only reason for applying though. I'm also going to put that I'd like to start my career in this city and I like the employment prospects and think that the school will give me great opportunities. Thanks in advance!

Youre waaaay overthinking it......
Those are all fine reasons. Now how strong they are can vary, ie. Spouse/fiance is a stronger "why" than SO.

It wouldn't hurt you but I don't see why you don't take this opportunity to tell the school how special you think they are. They love hearing that kind of stuff. Just because your reason is true doesn't mean you should put it in your Why X essay. When you ended up with your SO did you explain all the real reasons why you chose them? Or did you just emphasize the reasons why you thought he/she was special?
