Submitting extra LOR with updated addenda?

Post by greenapples » Thu Jan 21, 2016 6:17 pm

Hi guys!

I hope you guys are having a successful cycle. Columbia is my top choice, and one of the supervisors at work who is a graduate of Columbia Law offered to write me LOR. I think she would be able to write me a really good recommendations targeted to Columbia. I couldnt ask her before because she was on a leave while I was working on the apps.

Problem is, I am already maxed out on recommendation (3 academic, 1 professional). I am planning on calling the admissions office tomorrow and find out whether they would accept LOR that gets faxed/emailed (bc I'm maxed out on LSAC). What are y'all thoughts?

How does it compare to your current LORs?

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't think the LOR will make any real difference.

Thanks for your response! That's what I think so too, but if it had 0.000001 chance of having the admissions committee take another look at my app, I am considering sending that LOR.

So Columbia requires one from work. The LOR that was submitted would be subpar, pretty average and nothing spectacular. This one would be far more passionate, I think.
