Hey all. I'm wondering if anyone has any personal experience with TFA helping them to outperform their numbers.
My understanding from multiple searches on this board is that people think it's an above average soft, but I haven't found TOO many posts w/ people who have direct experience with TFA helping them outperform their numbers. My GPA and LSAT are >25 but <median at most mid T-14s (UVA, Duke) etc, and right on median for Gtown/Cornell. Accepted to Vandy within 2 weeks of submitting my app.
I've already written Why UVA, Why Duke, and put in an ED app at Penn, and I'm really hoping TFA will tip me over the edge. Thoughts?
Does anyone have personal experience with TFA + LS T-14 admissions? Forum

I'm in a similar situation to you, as was my TFA boyfriend last year. I'll use his experience for context here.
Numbers: 4.0/162
TFA for two years straight out of UG -- that was his major soft.
Accepted at: UVA, Berkeley, Penn, Columbia, BC, BU, GWU, GULC, UCLA, Fordham
WL: Michigan, Duke
Rejected: NYU, Harvard
He applied late in the cycle (like, first week of February late). He's at Penn now for sticker and totally loves it.
Basically, I do think TFA is a pretty solid soft. His GPA is pretty absurd, but his LSAT was much lower than the medians. I think you'll be looking at sticker at the T-6 if you get in (and I think I will too, but it's worth it for NYU), and I do think TFA will give you a boost.

No problem! And, just for a little more confidence, a woman in admissions at Penn (I'm blanking on her name, but we met with her last year after he was admitted) raved on and on about TFA. Apparently it's a soft they think EXTREMELY highly of.

That makes me feel so much better. Thank you so much. I'd really like to talk to someone in admissions at Penn - do you have any suggestions of someone I can/should contact?harvardorbust2016 wrote:No problem!
