Re: chances at T14? 4.07/162

Where did you get the idea that most t14s don't take Feb scores? This is not true.

You should retake. With those numbers you might get into a few lower t14s, but almost certainly with no scholarship. And that's if you get in, which is not a guarantee with a 162.

Retake if: you want to guarantee a spot for yourself in the t14 and/or you are not interested in paying $300k for your legal education, which will end up happening with those numbers.

Best bet is to take a year off and kill the LSAT, which is clear that you can do based on the 162 as a starting point and the fact that you're capable of working hard enough for a 4.0.

Your logic here is a hard stretch. While you fall on each school's distribution in the same way, schools aren't just looking at where you fall on the 25/50/75 landscape. They're looking at your specific numbers, your softs, and whether or not you will succeed in and add to their community. If it was as simple as you've made it seem, schools would input your ranges and pop an answer out.

Retake. Being below every t14s 25% lsat is a bad place to be.

If you have a 4.0 from an ivy you should have no problem getting a job for a year and applying next cycle.

Dude, you could go to Yale, Harvard, or Stanford law school with that GPA. Just get a 170+, it's really not that hard if you know how to study for the test; the LSAT is very learnable. Watch 7 Sage vids, take practice tests, review, read the guides on TLS, etc. At the very least go to a T14 on a full ride.

A full ride is worth about $280,000 after you factor in interest. Would you take a year off, and retake the LSAT, for $280,000??

Your chances are not the same for all t14s, although I'm sure at least one of georgetown/cornell/northwestern/michigan will offer you the privilege of attending at sticker. Listen to all above posters; retake in February, and if you don't raise your score enough, do something else for a year, and retake in June or October.

if you actually look at individual lSN applicants you'll see that a few schools accept applicants in the top 14 with very high GPAs (such as your gpa) and an lsat that is from 160-164. Apply this cycle with a good application, all the "optional" sections filled out and "why X" essays and I think you'll get in to a few schools with some money. Again, look at several applicants on LSN-

I would recommend you apply this cycle and if you are not happy with what you get back then apply next cycle
