Remedial course and LSAC GPA? Forum

I was wondering if LSAC will count 2 remedial courses I took my first semester at community college. I understand I have to send them all of my transcripts, but they say on their website that they do not count remedial classes if it is indicated. Both remedial courses that I took were pass/fail but were NOT for credit. I'm worried that they will count them since it doesn't clearly say "REMEDIAL", but the classes do show obviously that they were passed but no credit was given due to being remedial. I have heard from my school that grad schools, etc. count pass/fail classes as D's, which is what concerns me the most.

Good question, but hard to answer because we don't know what exactly your transcript says. Because it doesn't "clearly" say that the classes were "remedial," LSAC may convert them. But classes where you received a P do not count as a D, and they won't affect your GPA. If there was a class where you received No Credit, Unsatisfactory, or Not Passing / Fail, it will affect it, but that doesn't seem to be your case.

It doesn't sound like a problem to me. You can contact LSAC because this is a unique situation.

If your transcript shows 0 credit for those classes, LSAC shouldn't factor in that grade into your GPA.

I was in a similar position. I took a Jr. College class in highschool. I forgot to drop the class and got a D in it. Lucky my Jr. College had some academic forgiveness program which dropped the credits on my transcript. So I had a D with 0 credit. LSAC did not factor it into my GPA

What are you talking about? Is zero credits, it won't, and couldn't count.
