you don't have to put it in there. They will get your GPA from your transcript/LSAC.

You don't. But you can also put whatever looks best (and label it correctly) if you'd like to.

I think the habit should be to use your institution gpa, especially since (I assume) it sits right next to the name of your college. Doesn't make any sense to use whatever gpa lsac decided that you have.

But as other posters have said, you really don't need to put your gpa on your resume, certainly not for law school admissions purposes.

Oh, you were saying LSAC vs institutional GPA. I thought you meant overall vs major (because I didn't read the post content :| ). In that case, you don't have to specifically label your institutional GPA next to your college name I presume.

When applying, I used my institutional, which was lower than the one calculated by LSAC.

I give a big ol' giant side-eye to applicants who try to get cute with how they list their GPAs on their resume in order to make themselves look better. When it's off a bit it's usually due to retaken courses and not counting JuCo courses. But once in a while I see a number so far off that I try to calculate how they arrived at that number and there have been times I've been unable to do so. When that happens it really makes me question the applicant's ethics/judgment.

For law school resume, leave it off or just put the real number that's on your transcript. If you want to put your major GPA, do that IN ADDITION TO the cumulative and label it as such.
