Should I include in WE history?

Post by lplaw » Mon Dec 28, 2015 2:37 pm

Hey guys,

So I had a very long scenario I posted a couple of months back about my situation and I will be retaking the lsat in June after scoring a 167 on my last attempt. I really feel like I can land in the mid 170's so I'm hopeful on that front, but I have to score alot higher to balance my horrendous gpa of a 2.1.

Anyways, when it comes to WE I have been working in my technical field with a new diagnostic next-gen sequencing platform for the past year and a half. Additionally, I have also worked in a small immunohistochemistry (ihc) company out of college that lasted a year and a half as well before I moved to my current position. However, I have a gap year from when I finished college to that ihc role in which I really did play poker full time for a living. I really did grind out the low stakes at 1-2, 2-5, and 5-10 for about a year before I lost the interest and decided to actually join society. Would this be wise to include in my resume/WE to explain the gap?

Thanks.

My brother-in-law played poker for a living for a few years. Honestly, I think it gives you something to talk about, and having that on your resume looks better than just a gap year where you did nothing. JMHO though.

Edited for grammar.

With your solid technical work experience I don't think it's a problem to include your poker playing in your resume.
