Not close with any professors - Letters of Recommendation
I wasn't very close with any of my professors during college, and so I'm not sure what I should do for my letters of recommendation. I only recently decided to apply to law school (after I'd graduated), and I'm working full time right now. I don't want to ask my boss because that would signal that I plan to leave my job to go back to school. Should I just email those professor's in whose classes I did well and hope they write me a generic "he's a great student" letter, or is there a better strategy (offer to mark papers for free at my alma mater)?

There's always the option of seducing professors at your alma mater, taking pics, and blackmailing themMcGillLawStudent wrote:Should I just email those professor's in whose classes I did well and hope they write me a generic "he's a great student" letter, or is there a better strategy (offer to mark papers for free at my alma mater)?
ETA this only works with some people of course; others may just masturbate to those pics

Re: Not close with any professors - Letters of Recommendation
I'm sort of in the same boat. I graduated college 12 years ago so getting a professor recommendation is out of the question. What I have been told is get coworkers or employers to write them if you can. Anyone who can attest to your work ethic and attitude. Don't use family and only use friends if you have to. Fortunately I have been working for a while to get some good references from these sources. Just a thought...

I got a letter from a professor I had 11 years ago. I just sent him an email saying that I am applying to law school, that I did well in his course and really enjoyed it, and then listed a couple things about myself that might remind him of who I am. He emailed me back saying that he remembers me and would be happy to write a letter. I sent him an updated resume, and bam.
Unless you did your whole degree online, you'd be surprised how many of your professors will remember you, particularly within your major.
Edited for spelling.

That's interesting. I may have to give that a try. ThanksPoopyPants wrote:I got a letter from a professor I had 11 years ago.
