Schools where 25th & Median LSAT is just 1-2 points away...
In this case, assuming my GPA is at median, does getting having a 161 LSAT (25th percentile) reduce my chance signficantly than if I were to have a 162 (Median)? The numbers I just gave you is for UCI, but I see few other schools with similar kind of numbers.

Still a big difference. The USNWR rankings only actually calculate based on median, you're either <, =, or > it.

From a strictly usnwr perspective, yes.coolestkidever wrote:So if you are <25th percentile GPA, but 50-75th percentile LSAT, that equals the same, from a USNWR standpoint, as <25 GPA and >75 LSAT?Clearly wrote:Still a big difference. Definitely retake, there is very little chance that law school is worth it for someone with a 161.

Not necessarily, because they always want their rankings up. An LSAT of 5 points above last year's median will supposedly be more favorable to 1 point above last year's median; the latter might drag them down if they target to or actually increase their median by two points this year.Clearly wrote:From a strictly usnwr perspective, yes.coolestkidever wrote:So if you are <25th percentile GPA, but 50-75th percentile LSAT, that equals the same, from a USNWR standpoint, as <25 GPA and >75 LSAT?Clearly wrote:Still a big difference.
