Add Essay after Submitted Application Forum

Couldn't find the answer through searching. I have finished a few applications and just now wrote a diversity statement. Would it be ok/possible to email the schools and send them this extra essay or is the application finalized once it's submitted?

Yes. You can submit extra application materials. But it might not be strategic to do so if your numbers are competitive in the first place. It might be prudent to save to include in a LOCI if you get waitlisted.

Good point! My numbers are competitive. But this is more of a diversity statement. You think it would serve well if I got waitlisted?

Well I can think of a few ways it could transition into a LOCI to not only paint it in your interest in going to the school, but also to express further what you would bring to the school. But then the other side to that is, "start with your best foot forward" and go ahead and send it in to try and keep from getting waitlisted. But that's up to you.
