Do law schools see your full transcript or just the Academic Summary Report available on LSAC.org?

Post by sndeloss » Mon Nov 23, 2015 6:30 pm

My GPA was very poor my freshman year and for the first quarter of my sophomore year due to circumstances I've outlined in an addendum. For the next five quarters, I scored mostly As and Bs, with an average GPA of 3.8 over those five quarters.

On the Academic Summary Report it only shows the cumulative GPAs for each year, not each quarter. So while I have a 3.9 my junior year, the first quarter of my sophomore year pulls that whole year down to a 3.2.

Will law schools see only this report? Or will they see a full transcript with every single grade? I had a streak of straight As going for a while and I'd like for them to see that instead of just the cumulative yearly GPAs...

On a related note, how do course titles show up on one's transcript? During my A streak I was taking mostly 300 and 400 level upper division courses, which I'd like schools to see.

Thanks TLS!

Schools will get a copy of each transcript that you sent in to LSAC, so they see exactly what you see on an official transcript. and they will/should look at the transcript as part of the evaluation process. The Academic Summary report is part of the front page of your CAS repprt. Your LSAT scores and some other information is included. The subsequent pages of the report contain your LSAT writing sample, transcripts, and letters of recommendation (everything that LSAC has on you).
Hope that helps!
