Resume gap?

Post by Rh1no » Wed Nov 18, 2015 12:23 am

Disclaimer: I realize this might be a dumb question but I've slaved over these apps for the past month and have found every possible little thing to be worried about.

Basically, after freshman year of college, I didn't work for the first 2 months of the summer. I worked for the last month, but a combination of being worn out from a grueling transition to college (public school -> Ivy League) and not being able to find a job at first left me unemployed for 2 months. Sophomore and junior summer I worked full time internships the entire summer.

I'm applying straight out of undergrad and have sent my apps in to T14 with otherwise generally above 75%ile statistics and strong applications. Will this gap hurt me? Or is it not worth worrying about?

(if this is a really stupid question, like I suspect it might be, you have to realize: my current college environment is full of individuals who have very impressive internships every single summer of undergrad and make you feel like a failure if you don't, so take that as you will)

Someone give me a reason to relax.
Thanks.

Won't matter. Also, plenty of ivy leaguers waste their summers, especially freshman year.

Seriously doesn't matter in the slightest. Has no bearing on how good a law student/lawyer you will be. When you apply for jobs from law school there won't even be room to put all the positions you held - think about it like that. Really nothing more to say.
