How do I find complete info on myself for C&F disclosures?

Post by Nagster5 » Sun Nov 08, 2015 4:56 pm

I paid to have my driving record pulled and emailed to me, but it is very incomplete. For example I know I was once charged with driving without a liscence because I didnt have my wallet with me, but I went to the hearing and was found not guilty but there was no record of it. It's also missing a few speeding tickets (I dont remeber when/where, but I know I've gotten more than 2 speeding tickets) and a couple other things. How do I find complete info on all of these things to include expunged/juvenile charges? A federal background check? Who do I contact? I've been googling forever but I can't find anything useful.

I went to the state courthouse because it was close to me and got a record.

You can go to the FBI website, pay $18, and get info on yourself that way.

Just list all minor traffic violations that you think you have.

When it comes to your driving record...every state is different, my state for example, only gives a record of three years...

Edit: And I'm not sure about listing tickets that you have no record of. What if they want more information on it?

I spoke to a family friend who used to work on an admissions committee about this because i had the same issue. If it is just an old traffic offense that you are having trouble finding a record of it is perfectly acceptable to just list what you remember about the offense and say that the department of motor vehicles in your state only provides records back to a certain date so you are unable to provide further information.

In the HIGHLY unlikely event that the school wants more information they will follow up with you and you can proceed to dig deeper at that point no harm no foul. If anything it shows you are very honest by listing offenses there is potentially not even a record of anymore.
