1 addendum question, 1 diversity statement question

Post by R2D7point5 » Wed Nov 04, 2015 1:08 pm

Addendum:
Should I write and addendum explaining the difference between my institutional GPA (4.0) and my LSAC GPA (3.9). The difference comes from a class that I dropped via my school's web system and then did not attend for the entire semester (after also telling the professor that I was dropping the class to take it the next year, when it would be more convenient) only to find out that due to a registration error, I had still been enrolled in the class, so I failed it and retook it. My school wouldn't work with me to remove it from the transcript (I tried 3 times). I'm wondering if it's worth writing an addendum for this or if I should just leave it.

Diversity Statement:
Both of my parents are Lutheran pastors. I noticed hundreds of times growing up that I was raised with a very different value system from most of my peers. In a society that seems to be moving increasingly away from religion, I was very involved when I was younger. My parents weren't strict or even really conservative, but it was definitely a much different experience than growing up in a secular household. Is this worth a diversity statement or not?

I could see writing the first one but the second sounds like a joke, definitely don't write that one.
