I have my resume that I used in applying for jobs, which includes the following sections: objective statement (do not want to include with law school application resume), education, experience, and extracurriculars. Will it be redundant to include education on resume? Am I correct in ridding of the objective statement? Should I include volunteering under experience and indicate that I was a volunteer?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks in advance.

Skip the objective section, keep education, probably list volunteer stuff under "extracurricular", consider an "additional info" section under which you can list interests, hobbies, accomplishments, etc.

You still want to put down the education bit, but you shouldn't simply repeat info that is already in your app. Use it to highlight things not readily apparent from your app.

You still want to put down the education bit, but you shouldn't simply repeat info that is already in your app. Use it to highlight things not readily apparent from your app.

Obviously, still put your degree and shit. But this is where you can highlight all your shiny bits. If you have awards or honors, include them on your resume. If you have several, you can include them in their own section.

Two somewhat related (to the thread) questions...education section: I started college as an athlete at an NAIA school on scholarship (soccer), long story short, after an experience called me to the law, I transferred to a school with more rigorous academics, focused mainly on school and getting experience, and graduated. Should I include the school I transferred from? Should I list collegiate athletics under extracurriculars?

I think you should. Your transcripts will show grades from there. Just make a separate heading. I think most people list athletics under extracurriculars.
