"Your law school app is under review" <--normal to get?

Post by Troianii » Wed Oct 28, 2015 5:48 am

So I just got an email from BC law saying that my application was under review. I was quite excited - not that I think that has any bearing on what the decision would be, but I'd love to get decisions before Christmas.

Anyways, so my main question is - is it normal to get an email saying that your application is under review? This email I got said that I should expect a decision within 4-6 weeks, which I'm quite pleased about, but I'm wondering if I should expect such a heads up from law schools, or if this was just a nice courtesy that I shouldn't expect?

Thanks. I kind of assumed that I'd just hear out of nowhere that I got denied admission.

Do schools actually stick to this timeline, or is that really just a guideline?

I got the same e-mail from BC this morning! Hoping it means sooner rather than later.... I was looking at the dates admissions emails were sent out last cycle on lawschoolnumbers, and it seemed like they sent out quite a few late Oct/early Nov. But I might be reading too much into it.
