Worth waiting for small GPA boost?
Right now I'm sitting on a 2.96 GPA and a 160 LSAT. I'm looking at a schools ranked between 40-60. So far I'm sitting on all A's this semester, which would put my GPA at a 3.04. My question is should I go ahead and begin applying or wait till I get that GPA boost, which would put be me over that 3.0 mark? Would that .04 increase make that much difference in terms of receiving acceptances?

Re: Worth waiting for small GPA boost?
Probably better to wait. Any GPA below 3.0 raises questions & concerns about maturity, intellect & commitment that are harmful to your chances for admission.

Ask Spivey. Any law school that would give you a small boost for applying early with a sub 3.0 GPA is probably not worth an application.

Thanks for the advice guys/gals/etc. I'll go ahead and apply to several T3+4 schools, where I'm above both their 75th percentiles. I'll probably hold off applying to W&L and Richmond, until I receive my Fall grades. I know W&L's 25th percentile GPA is 3.08, so I'd like to be as close to that as possible. My 160 LSAT is right at their 50 percentile, so I might have a shot of being accepted; granted I'm not expecting to get much scholarship or financial aid money. I have some good softs (veteran, 1st gen college student), but we all know that doesn't mean much, unless you have the numbers to go with it.
