Any point in asking for an evaluation?

Post by MrSam » Mon Oct 26, 2015 5:57 pm

Hey Everyone,

I am in the process of collecting my LORs -well, requesting them. Much of the information regarding LSAC's "evaluation" option is from pre-2011. From what I've gathered, there are only a few schools who would like to see them. Should I bother asking my recommenders for an evaluation as well? Or, is it just a waste of their time? I recall reading somewhere that there are only 3 or 4 schools that look at evaluations. Again, this was back in 2011.

In 2015, they still don't matter.

It is best to contact the schools you are interest in applying to directly to see if they recommend an evaluation in addition to a letter of recommendation. It might depend on the school, but generally a letter of recommendation should be sufficient.

Best of luck!
