What ranking of schools can I be looking at
Hello everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read this and offer your help.
I recently took the October LSAT and scored a 165. I just graduated from Penn State University with a GPA of 3.97 (double major in Poli Sci and Philosophy with a minor in Classic History). I was hoping for my average in my prep tests but unfortunately I scored lower.
What schools would I have a good shot at? Also would going for early admission at some schools be helpful?
Thanks again for the help!!!

With that GPA people here will tell you to retake for a shot at HYS. I don't disagree, esp. if you already PT 170+

Yep, retake. Lower T-14 is still tough with a 165 and a 3.97. Doing just slightly better on the lsat will drastically expand your career options and land scholarship $$$. Good luck!

You're looking at the bottom half of the T14, UPENN, Chicago, and a shoe-in to pretty much anything else. But as it is, you can write off Harvard, Yale, and Stanford right now. If you improve your LSAT by five points you can look at an outside chance at Harvard and Stanford, but still can't expect to get into Yale.
IF, however, you're a URM, you could probably ED and get in anywhere you want.

I'll just leave this here. Not even going to bother clarifying the difference between "could" and "should" for trigger fingers.Clearly wrote:Or you know...Not ED and get money anywhere..Troianii wrote:brentwinslow93 wrote:Hello everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read this and offer your help.

Re: What ranking of schools can I be looking at
Who interprets "he shouldn't ED" as "ED is ineffective"? I didn't dispute that ED is effective. I merely stated a URM with those numbers would be a fool to ED. Which is true. Also, indeed could and should are different, but in this scenario both are pretty absurd. It's like saying Bill Gates could be rich if he won the lotto. it's technically true, but its not necessary. HYS don't have ED programs, and a 165 3.9 URM wouldn't need ED to get into CCN down, but would lose a ton of scholarship money in the process.
