Professor can't figure out how to upload LOR to LSAC

Post by jake872 » Mon Oct 19, 2015 12:26 am

I'm applying for fall 2016 and I already have one LOR posted on the LSAC website. I have another professor who has already written the LOR but she's very bad with computers and can't seem to figure out how to upload it to the website. I've tried to explain it to her several times over the phone and it's still not working for some reason. She's overseas and I'm afraid it would take too long to have her mail the letter to LSAC. Is there a big risk in having her forward both the LOR and the LSAC email invitation to me and I just post it for her? I'm not sure what else I can do in this situation.

I should add that my professor has said she is willing to do this.

From my years of experience in dealing with older, non-IT people, instructing them how to operate over phone almost never works. It is actually one thing that (a mediocre) GUI sucks at as compared with command line/telnet...

Regarding your case, I would write to LSAC and ask them to send your professor a step-by-step guide illustrated using screenshots. They respond to e-mail requests pretty quickly and they probably already have these guides at hand.
