What are my chances?

ETA: sure, you have a strong chance, because they weigh LSAT much more heavily. It will be good if you can somehow explain that GPA.

Yeah, I know it's a stale, worn out question. Thanks for weighing in regardless. Unfortunately, any honest explanation about my GPA would be a funny but scathing review of my character.ihenry wrote:What are my chances?

Re: Probability of Admission
I think you should still try for at least UT with that score and a solid addendum explaining the GPA. If you are URM, STEM, or military it should help compensate for that low GPA toojerm3736 wrote:Texas A&M School of Law

Re: Probability of Admission
That's a pretty strong LSAT. Depending on your goals, SMU might be a good application.

Re: Probability of Admission
Consider a year or two of post undergraduate work experience to distance yourself from your low GPA. Then attribute your poor grades to lack of maturity &/or focus that has been rectified by a couple of years of work experience.
Even without w/e, you stand a very good chance of being admitted.

'Preciate the response. The reason I hadn't considered SMU/Balyor is that my GPA is so tragically low that they wouldn't audit my GPA/LSAT in the same way they would other 'split' students. It seems reasonable to me that such a GPA infers, 'he'll flunk out, regardless.'lymenheimer wrote:That's a pretty strong LSAT. Depending on your goals, SMU might be a good application.
Thanks again for the input.

It might be worth it to throw an app. Also Houston law center. They will hold more weight in their respective cities and like I said, depending upon your goals may be a better option especially over a&m (from what I understand).jerm3736 wrote: 'Preciate the response.
