It's best to get your apps in before Thanksgiving. But it's always better to apply with a higher Dec LSAT than applying early fall.

i think with lower application rates, the idea of applying early is becoming less important. It's probably more important as you climb up the ladder into the higher-ranked schools T14 etc, but generally speaking, i think admission decisions are generally coming later in the cycle, since schools in today's legal world are having trouble filling slots.

Less important, sure, but it's still not a bad thing to do. Applying earlier is always better.

I would say you should always apply early, no later than November. Even if you are taking the LSAT in December, apply early

This is flat out wrong.

Applying later with a higher score is always better than applying early.

Well no shit, assuming you have been studying the last four, or three strong years of your life, scratch that, *academic career*
Update: sorry, I forgot I took out the last part of my original post, and I didn't realize how detrimental it was to me stating my idea lol!
originally I said apply early and update. Anyway, send in your new score and even send in an addendum if you absolutely have to

You run the risk of them not waiting to see your higher score and catching a rejection/WL in the meantime.
