Admission/Scholarship Response Etiquette
What's the proper etiquette for responding to an admission/scholarship offer? Do adcomms expect an email in reply?

No. Won't change the decision or the scholarship offer.

I'm not sure that the question was whether it would change the offer. I think the question was regarding the etiquette of replying to an admissions email with a thank you or email or something.lymenheimer wrote:No. Won't change the decision or the scholarship offer.

Right. And my reply was to indicate that it's unnecessary. Each school sends out hundreds/thousands of acceptances. Your thank you email will likely be trashed. Send it if he wants, but it won't change the outcome of anything, making it unnecessary.4thand9 wrote:I'm not sure that the question was whether it would change the offer. Generally, there is no need to respond by email. If you are concerned, you may always call the admissions or financial department to confirm if anything more is required. I of course would back up any important statements made with an email referencing the conversation.
