GPA Cutoff and Senior Year?
I am a Sophmore right now and deadset on law school. Double Majoring in HR Management and Law & Public Policy. With having a double major I am trying to plan out my schedule for the rest of undergrad and I had a couple questions I hope someone can answer. Is there a point in undergrad where my GPA would essentially cut off for law school? By that I mean would my GPA at the time I apply for law schools be the last time it is looked at and if so what semester/year would that be? I plan on taking the June LSAT when the time comes and then the October one if need be. I am wanting to put back a couple of classes I am not looking forward to back to senior year semester 1 or 2. Opinions? Thanks!

Re: GPA Cutoff and Senior Year?
If you apply say November, plenty of schools will give acceptances (Dec, Jan, Feb) and your last Gpa that they would see would be from your first 3 years. You of course need to update the fall semester plenty soon after. Some schools may request for your updated transcript before they render a decision (one did for me). Your final semester pretty much doesn't matter as long as you don't fail out of course. Just don't do what I did, and push your hardest classes to your last semester, then decide not to go lol. Dropped my gpa slightly for this coming cycle but not by much. Hope that helps

If you have a chance for latin honors, don't give that up. Just take easy classes if nothing else for the last semester. You were already working hard for 3 1/2 years. One more semester to be like most of the rest of the people at your future firm with latin honors for the rest of your life is a lot better than just slacking cause you "already got in YOLO."phill55 wrote:I am a Sophmore right now and deadset on law school. Yea definitely try to get Latin Honors if you can, the difficulty of my classes pushed me right out of it. But hey, my YOLO semester was one to remember lol
