Couple of Questions -- International Forum

Hello all,

I'm going into my third year of university at Queen's University (Canada) for commerce. My LSAC GPA is a 4.00 exactly (on the 4.33 scale of course), I have a 174 LSAT.

I'm wondering several things:

1. Are international applicants viewed differently? As in, do internationals have to have even higher LSATs and GPAs to get in?

2. How are bird courses viewed? I am projected to graduate in the top 10% (or top 11%, it'll be close) from my program. Queen's Commerce is ranked #1 in Canada for undergraduate business by almost all rankings, and if it isn't #1 it is #2. However, I took my fair share of bird courses as electives, or lighter courses (psychology, genetics, environmental science, etc). I know LSAC calculates the GPA, so do law schools then go back and dig up an applicants transcripts and stuff like that? I assume they have access to all of it, but if LSAC already did the work, they wouldn't need to, right? I'm worried they'll view these bird courses, and other bird courses I've taken and disregard my GPA... I know that they do judge people's choice of degree in terms of difficulty, and my Commerce degree is neither difficult nor easy, so I don't expect to have my GPA disregarded solely because I am a commerce student.

3. Does your class rank matter? Is that information even made available to law schools?

Of course, I'm gunning for T-14 (Harvard, Yale and Columbia being top choices, but I'll be putting a blanket on the T-14).

As long as you put some effort into your applications and don't make glaring mistakes, you'll probably get at least one of HYS, and CCN with some scholarship. It's mostly just a numbers game, unless you've got some game-changing factors to account for.
