High school transfer credits have ruined my LSAC GPA

Post by everest1 » Wed Aug 26, 2015 10:07 pm

Community college dual enrollment program to earn college credit sounded like a great idea in high school. I knew that as long as I passed I would get college credit, so 15 year old me didn’t worry too much about my pre-calculus final exam. Now I find out that those grades will be taken into account by LSAC.

I had a 3.91 UG GPA, with honors. I worked hard for it. My 13 credit hours of high school transfer credit bring it down to a 3.82. Respectable, but maybe not to H/Y/S, which are the only schools I would take out $200,000 in loans to attend.

Even with a high LSAT score (170-173), this considerably reduced my chances of getting into my top choice schools. Is there any way to get these grades off my transcript, or convinces admissions to use my actual university GPA instead of my LSAC GPA?

Usually when people say "ruined" they mean low 3s, not reduced by not even a tenth. Look at Mylsn and you'll get your answer.

Yeah, that's really not horrible. Hurts you a lot more at YS than H anyways, so just kill the LSAT and you're pretty much a lock at H.
