What Exactly is a "school-specific" LOR

Post by chaitealatte » Fri Aug 14, 2015 12:11 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on applying to Stanford, and I've noticed a lot of emphasis on how much Stanford adores **school-specific** recommendations. What exactly does this mean for recommenders? Is it just that the letter needs to state "and that's why X candidate would be a great fit for Stanford" or does the letter actually need to reiterate my Why Stanford essay? Any insight would be great-- thanks!
