Is waitressing a gap in a resume?
I graduated in May and am working as a waitress to save up for spending money in law school. The money is nice so I want to waitress for the year. I am retaking the LSAT in October (I got a 166 in June) and because I work nights I dont want to get an internship to make my days free for studying and getting my applications ready. Will this be a potential problem with applying law schools? I plan to apply by November 1, and was wondering if this would be considered a "gap in my resume"?

Are you asking whether you need to do an addendum for it? No. It's a job you're doing for money to live. Not being independently wealthy / not being supported by your parents doesn't require an addendum.

A gap in your resume is an unexplained period of nothing going on--no school, no employment, no curing cancer in Africa while teaching kids with autism about God. Waitressing is a job. As long as your dates overlap or match, there is no gap (a brief period between to account for job hunting, moving, etc also does not constitute a gap).
Waitressing is probably good experience for a potential lawyer. I imagine you deal with many idiots and assholes.

I bartended/barbacked in my "gap year" between undergrad and law school while studying for the LSAT and Patent Bar. It hasn't been perceived as a negative in the workplace and definitely wasn't in law school admissions. I had a blast that year and it was a great "gap year" job with some good $$$ while studying. Glad I did that instead of an internship or short term corporate job. I would recommend to keep doing what you're doing if you're enjoying it.
