I agree that this seems best. I imagine it's okay to use an abbreviated name if 1. it's commonly or officially used and 2. you've already referred to the school by the full name.Hikkomorist wrote:I basically used their own websites as guidance.

Most schools use some kind of abbreviated/shortened form on their website. If shortening their name, go with whatever they use.
Also, in my Why Xs, I usually used the full name the first time and the last time I mention the school (which were also my first and last sentences).

I used the full name the first time I mentioned the school in the intro, the last time I mentioned the school in the conclusion, and abbreviated everywhere in between.
If you're worried, look at their website; or better, how admins refer to the school in emails.
