Remind me when the law schools are required to disclose their enrollment data? I thought it's an October date?

bpolley0 wrote:Can anyone explain how the below works?

1)Tuition goes down significantly because students are taking 28 credit hours instead of 30 credit hours?

2) The $36,021 is for everyone who borrowed irrespective of class year and residency. Have everyone on a full ride fill out a $200 Fafsa?

TUITION AND FEES:

$33,162/first year for residents (30 credit hours)
$49,244/first year for nonresidents (30 credit hours)

Note: Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice. The second and third year tuition goes down significantly since they are based on 28 hours for attendance.

AVERAGE DEBT:

$36,021*

Law School students are charged flat-rate tuition. The Dollars and Sense website contains important information about tuition: how rates are set, tuition costs, and how tuition is used. The Frequently Asked Questions page provides information about flat-rate tuition.

*This figure represents the average debt of current Texas Law students, irrespective of class year and residency, who finance their law school education with student loans. Accordingly, the amount for residents would be slightly lower than the figure reported for nonresidents. When comparing our figure with those of other law schools, it is important to verify whether the program calculates average debt using actual borrowers as UT does, or using all students including those who did not receive financial aid. This figure is based upon the 2013 ABA debt calculation for consumer information.
1) Significantly is just an exageration... it does go down from 33,162 to 31,590...

2)No idea how they get that number... way too low

You're forgetting that the figure includes 1Ls, very few of whom will have more than $36k in debt.

Hook 'em! Supplanting GT is inevitable (famous last words). But seriously, UT is so much more cost-effective and in a stronger legal market.

No, I called and had questions about the application. I asked if they had any idea when the numbers would be posted on their website and then the admissions officer said she would just tell me what she knew at present.

WHAT?!?

Random quasi-anonymous posters on an Internet forum are not official? What has the world coming to?
